2016 Cheetah Sustainability Grants

Accepting proposals.  Due October 14, 2016.

Established in 2014, the Cheetah Sustainability Grant Fund (previously Cheetah SSP Grant Fund) was created through participant contributions to the Cheetah Sustainability Program (CSP).  These zoological institutions are supporting cheetah-specific research and conservation projects, and animal production through conservation breeding centers, with the aim to develop and maintain a self-sustaining North American cheetah population.

The Cheetah Sustainability Grant Fund (CSGF) is requesting proposals for high quality conservation related research with clear benefits to cheetah sustainability

This year we are considering projects of one or two years in duration with an award amount of up to $10,000 per year.  Projects must be completed within 12 or 24 months (respectively) of the start date.  The application due date is no later than 5:00 p.m. CST on October 14, 2016 with all required materials submitted electronically in one email message to C2S2 Program Manager, Cynthia Bennett at

All CSGF proposals undergo a thorough, confidential review process.  Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by December 31, 2016.  Projects must start anytime in January 2017.

The CSGF does not fund the following:  Tuition, university fees, or fringe benefits associated with graduate university students or other collaborators; administrative costs (including institutional overhead and submission costs for the publication of journal articles); travel unrelated to completion of the project (conference presentation expenses, travel to meetings, etc.); and overhead expenses.
